Rocco Pool

Rocco is an award-winning Production Designer with a background in theatre, television, and film. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Drama from Stellenbosch University in 2011, he began his career designing sets for acclaimed South African theatre productions, earning multiple Fleur du Cap and Fiësta Award nominations for Best Set Design.

Transitioning into film under the mentorship of Birrie le Roux, Rocco quickly established himself as a standout Production Designer. His work on the feature film Kanarie earned him the KykNet Silwerskermfees Award for Best Production Design, followed by projects such as Die Seemeeu, Waterfront, Dwaalster, Die Spreeus, Somerkersfees, Rage, Gaia, and 4 Mure.

In 2020, he received the ATKV Mediaveertjie Award for Production and Set Design on Dwaalster and Die Spreeus. Rocco continues to bring cinematic depth, artistry, and storytelling precision to every project he takes on.
